New bike frame technology
A new bike frame technology, it is supposed to be ultralight and ultrastrong.
If a simple polygon can hold up a pharaoh’s tomb for 4,500 years, it should survive some off-road riding. That’s the thinking behind the 2.75-pound Arantix mountain-bike frame from Delta 7 Sports. It’s 10 times as strong as a steel frame of the same weight would be—enough to survive the company’s informal “run- over” test with a Ford F350 pickup.
The Arantix draws its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio from rods composed of several hundred layers of carbon fiber, wrapped tightly with Kevlar cord and woven to form a long series of little pyramids. The rods intersect to create hundreds of stress-bearing joints that add strength and isolate damage, so a crack in one part of the frame won’t spread to another and wreck your ride.
Because each frame requires up to 300 hours of hand-weaving, Delta 7 will make only 200 this year, selling for $7,000 each starting in the spring. Spread over a few millennia, that’s a bargain.

Desiring God Conference.
This weekend I went to the Desiring God National Conference. The speakers included John MacArthur, Jerry Bridges, Randy Alcorn, Helen Roseveare and John Piper. John Piper said this conference is to “call the church to endurance in the face of anything and everything that would deplete our zeal for the glory of Christ.”
Please take the time to listen to the message, they are all worth your time. Desiring God has made both the audio and video available for download on their site. Please listen and let me know what you think.

A Burglar Convicted.
A burglar returned to the scene of his crime on the same day to take back the goods he’d stolen earlier along with a heartfelt apology note.
The thief also returned the goods he’d bought with a credit card he had taken from the home of Graeme Glass who was at work in the southern resort of Queenstown, New Zealand, at the time.
The burglar smashed a window to gain entry and made off with a laptop computer, a camera, and Glass’s wallet including the American Express credit card.

Playin’ in the mystery foam
I am not sure if I would play in a foam creeping up on a beach. Atleast until I knew that the foam was something that was clean or fun to eat. Well this was not clean or fun to eat.
Scientists explain that the foam is created by impurities in the ocean, such as salts, chemicals, dead plants, decomposed fish and excretions from seaweed.

‘Ninja’ teens in Oregon not as swift as those in movies
Only real ninjas are cool. (story taken from Seattle Post Intelligencer)
ROGUE RIVER, Ore. — The three teenagers in hooded black outfits were scampering over rooftops, climbing trees “just like a squirrel,” and breaking into houses and cars, police said.
But they weren’t quite as slick as their Japanese ninja heroes.
Earlier this summer, an officer chased one of the wannabes across a school rooftop, but the youth leaped into a nearby tree, said police Chief Ken Lewis.
Breaking branches on the way down, “he gave a yelp of pain,” and then he scrambled away, Lewis said.

You can never give to many hugs.
“Jordan Pearce, 18, said she hugged 765 people in less than an hour Saturday and plans to send the results to Guinness World Records. “
765 hugs in just under 1 hour! Wow! That is a hug ever 4.7 seconds. I don’t know what to say. I would love to try to beat that. Where would I find 800 people to have a 4 second meaningful moment with? I suppose I could just go to the MOA and just yell out, “Ok I am going to start hugging people, ready GO!!!”
